According to police, the suspect pursued a UNC student after committing an assault.


UNC Police are currently investigating an assault on a female student that took place on Sunday evening in Chapel Hill, NC. According to the CrimeStoppers report, the male suspect assaulted the student at the intersection of Raleigh Street and South Road at around 6 p.m. The victim was chased towards the Frank Porter Graham Student Union. The suspect, a man in his 20s or 30s with dark hair and beard, was reportedly wearing dark colored pants and a yellow puffer jacket. He was last seen walking towards Hooker Fields from the Union, and is yet to be caught. Investigation into the incident is ongoing, and anyone with information about the suspect is advised to contact UNC Police or call 911.
