The Durham Police Department is currently investigating a Monday morning shooting that occurred at around 12:55 a.m. The incident took place on Summit Street, close in proximity to South Roxboro Street within the 2200 block. Although officers discovered a minor injury on a female victim, it was not the result of a gunshot wound. Emergency medical services (EMS) arrived at the location and soon discharged the victim on scene after treating her. As per the preliminary investigation, the event was not a random occurrence.
