In a recent development, Moldova has inked a deal to secure gas supplies from Greece. This move has deprived Gazprom of another market, thereby causing a significant setback to the energy giant.

It is believed that Parlicov signed the agreement on April 6 during his visit. According to the minister, Greece serves as the primary entry point for liquefied natural gas in southern Europe, with over half of it coming from the United States. Energocom, a Moldovan state-owned company, currently remains as the sole company with operational experience utilizing the “vertical corridor” stretching across Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova, and Ukraine.
