A Lyft driver was stabbed in the face after trying to break up a domestic assault on Sunday morning, as reported by the Raleigh Police Department. The incident took place at approximately 1:53 am, when officers received a call about a stabbing in a house located on the 600 block of Sarver Court, near Dix Park and the North Carolina State Farmers Market off of Lake Wheeler Road. Upon their arrival, they discovered that the driver, aged in his mid-thirties, had suffered from a stab wound to his face when he attempted to rescue a woman from the attack, which had ensued between her and Toussaint Parks in his late-forties or early-fifties. The driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries but is expected to recover. Meanwhile, Parks fled the scene but was caught around 5 a.m. and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and possession of a firearm by felon, which police say is unrelated to the stabbing. The woman involved in the attack was unharmed.
