According to the police, a vape shop owner in Rocky Mount was arrested for distributing counterfeit drugs during a collaborative operation among multiple agencies. Additionally, ammunition was discovered during the investigation.


A man from Rocky Mount is facing drug trafficking charges following a month-long investigation involving multiple agencies, as reported by Tarboro Police Department. On Thursday, officers from different agencies executed two search warrants that culminated the exhaustive investigation. The first warrant was performed at a Tobacco and Vape store in Tarboro while the other one took place in Rocky Mount. Officers discovered firearms, controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, various substances, and cash during the operation. According to police, the suspect, identified as Nedall Akram Mohammud Alwan, was charged with a series of drug-related offenses, including delivering and selling heroin. Alwan was taken to the Edgecombe County Detention Center and given a $1 million secured bond. His court date is set for April 12.
