Two individuals and their dog are currently trapped by the high water surrounding their Durham home, according to fire officials. As of 4:30 pm, the stranded occupants are still inside their residence located in the 1200 block of South Street. Durham Fire Division Chief David Swain reports that a front yard area extending from the front door to the street is inundated with water, and roughly 4 feet of flooding is obstructing the front of the house. The Durham Fire Department intends to employ a boat to transport the couple from the flood-imperiled home. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
